Well Done, StageOne!
All StageOne students recently completed their first public performances for 2010 and it was a job well done! For many students it was their first time on stage and feedback received has been overwhemingly positive. We've changed the performance format so that every student gets a chance to show off their new skills and the comments heard and communicated indicate we are on the right track.
Look for more in Term 4 as we gather new scripts and characters for the StageOne team to explore!
An Invitation
After their recent performance seasons some of our senior StageOne students have been invited to perform as part of the next Scene+ season for Hagley Theatre Company. The season will be held in September and the inclusion of StageOne shows how much talent and professionalism exists within the programme.
Scene+ gathers the best of in-house performances and showcases them in a cafe-style situation for a limited season at The Open Stage.
It's Too Late!
Enrolments have now closed for 2010. If you are looking at joining StageOne in 2011 then forms for theatre and dance classes can be downloaded by clicking on either Timetable or Enrolment below. Places are limited so you're encouraged to get in quick!
We're very pleased to continue offering contemporary dance classes in 2011. We had been planning on adding dance to our programme for quite some time and our Steps tuition is growing fast.
Dance is being offered thanks to the support and skills of Hagley Dance Company.
He's Back!
Darryl Low, the Creative Director for StageOne spent time catching up with former tutor Becky Ruffell in London and New York recently. He managed to see a whole range of theatre, spoke to those in the industry and visited some of our contacts - including the National Theatre (where many of our performance scripts are sourced). Highlights include a fascinating production called Warhorse (with life-size horse puppets) and accidentally running into Michael Gambon (who plays Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies). Darryl has returned fresh and excited, armed with new scripts and new ideas for the development of StageOne.
